The ESD Technology Department provides technical support to all users of computers, printers, phones and connections within the JuniperNet Network. Also provided is access to the Internet, web hosting services, and electronic mail services. The ESD provides constant antivirus protection, automated updates and content filtering to satisfy the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). This support also includes the hardware and software that is required to run your laptop, workstation, servers, phone systems, and mobile devices.

• Log off of your computer and turn off the monitor at the end of your workday.
• Remember to leave the computer on after you log off. Software patches are pushed out from the ESD during non-business/school hours
• Reboot your computer once every week
• Clean out your temporary Internet files at least weekly
• Change your password on a regular basis using the password rules (8 characters with a number and it must be unique).
• Keep your password private - never repeat or share your password with others.
• Verify files before downloading them from unknown sources, including from e-mail and other sites.
• If there has been an interruption in power to your machine or server, you should restart.
