Grant County ESD provides
special education services for children and districts, determined through a resolution agreement, to the five small, rural
school districts in the county. These school districts are:
- Long Creek District #17
- Grant District #3
- Monument District #8
- Dayville District #16
- Prairie City District #4
Services provided to the districts include:
- Diagnostic Evaluation
- Speech and Language Programs
- Special Education Support Personnel in each district
- Coordination and referral services to Regional Programs
Special Education programs are individually designed programs to meet the needs of students
who are eligible under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). They may qualify in any of the following
eligibility categories:
- Autism
- Deaf/Blindness
- Hearing Impairment
- Specific Learning Disability
- Orthopedic Impairment
- Other Health Impairment
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Visual Impairment
- Emotional Disturbance
- Communication Disturbance
- Intellectually Challenged
