Mount Vernon Middle School is part of Grant School District # 3 and is located in Mount Vernon, Oregon which is eight miles west of John Day on U.S. Hwy 26. Mount Vernon Middle School educates students that are in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. There are approximately 140 students currently enrolled.

It is a goal of the Mount Vernon Middle School staff to provide learning opportunities and experiences that are both challenging and rewarding to students. We feel the middle school years are very important for developing the necessary skills and attitude to become life long learners. The staff is here to assist the students in reaching their educational goals and to make the years students spend at Mount Vernon Middle School the best educational experience possible.
