Welcome To Grant Union High School. We are located in John Day Oregon, a small town of about 2,000 people in Grant County. John Day is located at the heart of Eastern Oregon, surrounded by grassy fields, rivers, and tall mountain ranges. There are many things to do in and around Grant County all year long. Grant County has small snow parks scattered throughout where snowmobile clubs hold various events throughout the winter.

In the spring, travelers from all around come to visit our many museums, to go hiking in the Strawberry Wilderness, or to visit the John Day fossil beds. The community also comes together to host many different events throughout the summer. There is also a great number of deer and elk in the surrounding hills which bring in hunters from all around the state.

During the late spring and early summer, bikers and motorcycles pass through John Day on the many scenic routes that run though Grant County. There are many bike trails; smooth winding single-track, or for the more adventurous, many technical trails can be found. People also come long distances just to relax and enjoy the scenery.

This is a page meant to inform and promote Grant Union High School, John Day, Grant County, and the surrounding area. Take a moment and check out all that this wonderful area has to offer.
