Principal's Corner

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Let me begin by saying how much we miss all of our 270 students being in the building at Grant Union Jr/Sr High School.  We are concerned for our students’ health and well-being, as well as their families. Although none of us have experienced a pandemic before, the Grant Union family of students, parents,  and educators, has quickly risen to the occasion.  We would like to thank everyone for your understanding and support as we venture towards distance learning for all.

As you know, Grant School District #3 motto is “Working Together to be the Best for Students”.   That is just what we are doing from afar in order to serve our most important assets- your children! The upcoming weeks will not be easy and there will likely be several speed bumps along the way.  However, there will be successes through this process and we will be stronger and more resilient as a result.   We are here to support our students and you throughout this challenging time and have provided several resources for students and parents to access through our Distance Learning Center link located on the GU webpage.  It is our intent that Grant Union students will be provided continuity of instruction that honors a commitment to academic engagement and a sense of belonging within our community.

Please feel free to contact your teacher via email or call the school number 541-575-1799 if you need assistance. We also ask for your patience and understanding as we venture into these uncharted waters. Our teachers and other employees are working long hours while preparing for their new, but temporary, normal.

Stay healthy, be well, and GO Prospectors!
